Park City, a rough and tumble mining camp with its gunslingers, "fancy ladies" and hardrock miners, was early West at it's best. This was a frontier city filled with hard luck stories of drifters and cowboys mingled with the "just struck it rich millionaire miners." The Park City Hotel was the center of all this frenzied excitement. When the tragic fire of 1898 claimed most of the town, the Park City Hotel resumed the place of prominence once enjoyed by its predecesor. When the treasures of the hills petered out, it appeared Park City was doomed to the fate of a ghost town. But as fate often does, a new treasure was found, that of skiing, and Park City once more is enjoying the boom of an era. Capturing the flavor of Park City, the New Park dawned a new name, The Claim Jumper Hotel. With the simple decor of a bygone era you might think yourself one of these cowboys or "fancy ladies."
